Are you a My Way or Highway person?
Whether we ask or not, feedback comes to us in various forms and ways. It might come verbally from a colleague, or it might be a letter from bank refusing your loan. It could even be a specific opportunity that comes your way because of the specific step you took.
Whatever it is, it’s important to listen to feedback. Whatever feedback you get, never ignore the yellow alerts. Never go against your gut. If it doesn’t feel right to you, it probably is not.
Not all feedback is useful or accurate. Look for the patterns in the feedback you get.
If several people are telling you the same thing, there is probably some truth in it. Why resist it? Ask yourself, “Would I rather be right or be happy? Would I rather be right or be successful?“
I know a person who would rather be right than be happy and successful. This person got mad at anyone who tried to give a feedback. “Don’t you talk to me that way, young lady.” “Don’t tell me how to run my business. This is my business and I will run it the way I want to.” “I don’t give a hoot what you think.”
This person was a “my way or highway” person. Wasn’t interested in anyone else’s opinion or feedback. In the process, alienated the spouse, lovely children, clients and employees. Ended up with divorce, and ultimately two bankrupt businesses. But remained right.
Don’t you, get caught in this trap. It is a dead-end street.
Remember, successful people don’t just drift to top. Getting there requires focused action, personal discipline, and lots of energy every day to make things happen. They listen to every feedback and take inspired actions.
The actions you take this day will determine how your future unfolds. You may even want to take a Numerology Consultation!
Decide and take action. Now. Remember, only the actions produce the results.
